1-20-25   THOUGHTS

Who is our God?  He is the Glorious Majestic one who “longs to be gracious to you, And therefore  He waits on high to have compassion on you.”   We, by our thinking and behaving allow God to bless us!  The words at the end of verse 22 are powerful...  “BE GONE!”  We must say this to our worldly lusts!  Mark  8:33  But turning around and seeing His disciples, He rebuked  Peter and said, "Get behind Me, Satan; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s."   We must live with God’s interests in front of us!  Jas 4:7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Isa 30:18-23    Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him.  19  O people in Zion, inhabitant in Jerusalem, you will weep no longer. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. 20  Although the Lord has given you bread of privation and water of oppression, He, your Teacher will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes will behold your Teacher. 21  Your ears will hear a word behind you, "This is the way, walk in it," whenever you turn to the right or to the left.  22  And you will defile your graven images overlaid with silver, and your molten images plated with gold. You will scatter them as an impure thing, and say to them, "Be gone!" 23  Then He will give you rain for the seed which you will sow in the ground, and bread from the yield of the ground, and it will be rich and plenteous; on that day your livestock will graze in a roomy pasture.

My Prayer:
O gracious and compassionate God of all creation, may our eyes behold You as our Teacher.  May Your Spirit be in us and guide us to eternal victory!  May Your word be continually before us and teach us the joy of  Your salvation in Christ Jesus.  May Your word wisdom be in our ears to cause our right walking.  Bless us with Your awesome love as we flee to You for life eternal.  We praise You for the words we read above.   Help us to make them work in our lives.  Help us to long for You.   In the name of our Savior,      Amen.
